Spring is here — nature’s invitation to reset and refresh. The air feels warmer, windows are open and the idea of a spring clean naturally comes to mind.  It’s a chance to shake off the heaviness of winter, clear out the stale, and invite in the new.

While the idea of spring cleaning can be daunting, it doesn’t have to be overwhelming or an all-or-nothing project. We believe in a more relaxed approach: tackling tasks one week at a time and focusing on the areas that truly need it.

We’ve put together a simple checklist to help you refresh your home at your own pace, so that you can enjoy a lighter, brighter space this spring.

Suggested cleaning supplies

Prepare yourself with all the washing tools you need to clean each space in your home. Start with our Spring Cleaning Bundle or find yourself the following:

• Bench Spray (Multi-Purpose Cleaner)
• Floor Wash
• Dish Wash
• Glass Spray
• Clean cloths/rags
• Sponge
• Vacuum
• Mop

Room-by-room checklist

To make it easier, we suggest working one room at a time. Spread it out over the month setting little goals each week and work your way down the list.

Bedrooms 

• Dust all surfaces including lamp shades and ceiling fans
• Vacuum under the bed
• Wash pillow and duvet
• Declutter - clean out closet, old bags and shoes
• Pack and store winter clothes

Living areas

• Clean windows, drapes and curtains
• Wipe with a Bench Spray and cloth or throw heavy-duty in the wash
• Clean upholstered furniture
• Wash and spot clean cushions, vacuum sofas
• Vacuum under couches and TV unit
• Refresh rugs with Mist Spray or spot clean stains with Bench Spray
• Mop floors
• Dust window sills and hard-to-reach surfaces
• Polish metal hinge and door knobs

Kitchen

• Deep clean fridge
• Clear out outdated food and wipe down with Bench Spray
• Clean out pantry - remove outdated items and organise
• Wipe down oven, microwave and other appliances
• Clean dishwasher 
• Dust on top of cabinets and fridge
• Declutter miscellaneous drawers and bench-top item
• Defrost the freezer

Bathrooms

• Discard old cosmetics and organise medicine cabinet
• Deep clean shower
• Wash towels
• Unclog drains
• Scrub and disinfect bath (a Bench Spray works perfectly!)
• Mop floors
• Clean makeup brushes and other beauty applicators (we use the Body Wash as a gentle soap)
• Change shower curtain (if needed)

• Clean washing machine
• To clean it, wipe down surfaces with a Bench Spray and inspect for unwanted gunk. Then run it empty on a hot wash with a small amount of vinegar. 
• Organise laundry washing supplies
• Check and clear dryer vent
• Discard old linens, rags, towels
