Sustainability overview
Elevated essentials, naturally
Our products are 99-100% naturally derived, non-toxic and biodegradable, harnessing the powerful antibacterial properties of Australian native botanicals. We collaborate with socially responsible suppliers who prioritise quality, fair compensation, and environmental stewardship. Our goal in all we do is to help create a safer world for both people and the planet.
Ingredients
99%+ pure plant origin
We do a lot of research into ingredients. Formulated by our founder, Belinda, alongside expert chemists, every product is crafted to be safe for both people and the environment.
All of our products are 99-100% derived from plants. This is unusual even within the natural product space. There really is nothing nasty in the bottles - the only non-natural ingredients are food-grade preservatives to help keep the products shelf-stable.
We never use parabens, endocrine-disrupting chemicals, harsh preservatives or petrochemicals. You can read the full list of ingredients we avoid here.
Packaging Initiatives
Recyclable packaging
Our bottles are fully recyclable, made from aluminium, glass, or plastic.
While we receive many requests for soft pouch refills, we’ve chosen not to offer them as they often end up in landfill. We have also experimented with glass, however it proved impractical due to high breakage risks. Instead, we’re introducing post-consumer recycled plastic to reduce plastic circulation.
To further minimise waste, we offer 5L bulk refills for our key products — including Floor Wash, Hand Wash, Dish Wash and Body Wash. Let us know if there are other bulk options you’d love to see.
All our products are locally manufactured in Victoria, with ingredients sourced from Australian businesses whenever possible to reduce our carbon footprint.

Ethical essential oils
We take care to ensure our botanical ingredients are sustainably and ethically sourced, carefully selected for their purity and efficacy. We have long-established relationships with oil suppliers in Australia and globally, who source only the finest essential oils - certified-organic, kosher and environmentally sustainable.
Community Engagement
Giving back to nature
We proudly donate to the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) annually. To date, we have contributed over $30,000 to support their work to restore Australian landscapes and protect wildlife. Australia has lost more species to deforestation than any other country — WWF- Australia is actively working to reverse this devastation. If you’d like to contribute, you can do so here.
Giving back to people
Through the BONDI WASH x May Gibbs Baby Range, we celebrate our shared love for Australian botanicals. Thanks to the generous foresight of Gibbs herself, every purchase of the May Gibbs collection supports Cerebral Palsy Alliance and Northcott Society — two incredible charities helping Australian children with disabilities.
Thanks to the work of the Cerebral Palsy Alliance, the incidence of cerebral palsy has dropped from 1 in 400 children to 1 in 700. Today, 80% of diagnosed children can walk and talk—compared to just 50% in 1980.
We have partnered with humanitarian NGO SurfAid, contributing a portion of sales from our collaboration Body Wash to improve health and well-being in remote surf communities.
Future responsibility
Through thoughtful product development, we are continuing to prioritise more sustainable solutions and packaging. We've recently launched a concentrated Bench Spray Shot and plastic-free Laundry Bar — leading the way in responsible innovation.
