LINGERIE CARE GUIDE - with Simone Pérèle

Lingerie is more than just clothing - it’s an intimate expression of femininity and a feeling of quiet confidence. These delicate pieces, worn closest to skin, are often made from fine fabrics like lace, silk, and satin. They require special attention to preserve their comfort, shape and softness.

Caring for your lingerie properly not only preserves its quality but also protects the skin it's worn so closely to. We have collaborated with French lingerie house, Simone Pérèle, to bring you our guide to keeping your lingerie and most delicate garments (sleepwear, silks and lace) in their best condition:

HAND WASH OR USE A DELICATE CYCLE

Hand washing is always recommended for delicate garments. Use one capful of Lingerie Wash in a basin of cold water. Gently massage soapy water through the fabric and rinse thoroughly. If you are short on time or prefer machine washing, place items in a mesh laundry bag and select the gentlest cycle with cold water.

AIR DRY FLAT

Never tumble dry your lingerie. Lay pieces flat on a clean towel or in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight which can fade colours and weaken elastic fibres.

SKIP FABRIC SOFTENERS AND WOOL DETERGENTS

Fabric softeners often contain chemicals that break down delicate fibres and irritate sensitive skin. Instead, rely on natural softening ingredients in your Lingerie Wash that keep fabrics supple and smelling fresh without damage.

STORE FLAT

Lay briefs and bras flat when storing - avoid folding your bras in half or turning cups inside out to insert into each other.

PRE-TREAT STAINS

The number one tip for successful stain treatment is getting to them quickly. In particular, blood is best treated quickly by soaking cold water. Consider pre-treating using a gentle but effective Stain Removal Concentrate or Laundry Bar for 5-10 minutes, before washing as usual.

REFRESH WITHOUT OVERWASHING

Delicate bras don't need washing after every wear. Air your pieces between uses or lightly spritz with a natural Mist Spray. This gentle approach extends the life of your lingerie and keeps it feeling soft and fresh.
